Homemade guacamole is really easy to make. There are so many recipes out there with all different ingredients, but I like to keep it simple by using ripe avocados, red onion, some spices, lime juice, and fresh cilantro. If you prefer your guacamole on the spicy side then go ahead and add some diced jalapeño, I won’t be mad! This classic Mexican dip is perfect with tortilla chips, but don’t stop there. You can top your tacos, burritos, or quesadillas, it’s even good on eggs. So be adventurous and try it on something new!

Homemade guacamole is so easy to make. I keep the ingredients simple by using ripe avocados, red onion, some spices, lime juice and fresh cilantro. This classic Mexican dip is perfect with tortilla chips!
Ingredients
- 4 ripe Avocados
- 1/4 cup Red Onion, diced very small
- 2-5 dashes of Tobasco
- 1/2 tsp. Cumin
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp. Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
- Juice of 2 Limes
- 1/4 cup Cilantro, chopped
- *Optional 1 Jalapeño (for added spice-remover ribs and seeds from jalapeño), finely diced. Add as little or as much as you want.
Instructions
- Peel Avocados and remove pits. Add to medium sized bowl.
- Using a potato masher or the back of a fork. Smash Avocado until slightly chunky. Not completely smooth. You want some avocado chunks visible.
- Add remaining ingredients except for Cilantro. Stir gently to combine. Once you have adjusted seasoning to your liking stir in Cilantro.
Serve with Tortilla Chips.
Notes
To keep guacamole from turning brown press plastic wrap onto the surface of the guacamole making sure no air gets in-don't just cover the bowl with plasitc wrap.
