Ingredients for Creamy Whipped Feta Dip:

Feta Cheese
8 ounces of feta cheese block. Do not get the pre-crumbled kind. It doesn’t blend up as nicely or get as creamy. For a smooth dip, use the regular block of feta cheese.
Olive Oil
2 tablespoons of olive oil. I prefer extra virgin olive oil here. There are only a few ingredients in the recipe, so I like to use the highest quality that I can.
Red Wine Vinegar
2 tablespoons of red wine vinegar. The only substitution here would be white wine vinegar or champagne vinegar. Balsamic vinegar would not work mostly because it would change the color of the dip.
Red Pepper Flakes
1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes. This small amout add just a subtle kick of heat to the dip. If you prefer more spice, then add a little bit more. It would also be ok to leave it out entirely.
Fresh Garlic
1 whole garlic clove. Remove the papery skin on the outside. No need to cut it up, the food processor will take care of that!
Fresh Lemon Juice
1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice. This is usually from one small lemon.
Mayonnaise
1/4 cup of mayonnaise. You could substitute plain Greek yogurt here if you wanted to. It would add a tangy flavor.
STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Mince the garlic.
Start by adding the garlic clove to the bowl of a food processor and pulsing a few times until it’s finely minced. Doing this first helps break down the garlic so it blends evenly throughout the dip.
Step 2: Add the remaining ingredients.
Next, add the block of feta cheese, olive oil, red wine vinegar, red pepper flakes, fresh lemon juice, and mayonnaise to the food processor with the garlic.

Step 3: Blend until smooth and creamy.
Blend everything together until the mixture becomes completely smooth and creamy. You may want to scrape down the sides of the food processor once or twice to make sure everything is evenly incorporated.

Step 4: Transfer to a serving bowl.
Spoon the creamy feta dip into a small shallow bowl. Smoothing out the top with the back of a spoon. At this point, you can enjoy it as is, or add a few simple toppings to make it extra special.

Step 5: Add optional toppings
For extra flavor and texture, drizzle of extra virgin olive oil over the top and sprinkle with dried oregano. You can also garnish with crumbled feta cheese, diced cucumbers, chopped Kalamata olives, or a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes. Garnish with fresh herbs like dill or basil for added color and freshness.
Step 6: Serve and enjoy
Serve the dip with fresh-cut vegetables. Cucumbers, carrots, celery, or red peppers are perfect options. It’s also delicious with homemade crispy pita chips for the perfect scoop. I’ve included the full recipe of my homemade pita chips on the recipe card. See the step-by-step instructions below!

HOW TO MAKE HOMEMADE PITA CHIPS

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 400°F so it’s nice and hot for crisping the pita
Step 2: Season the pita bread
Lay the pita bread out on a flat surface. Lightly brush each piece with olive oil, then sprinkle with salt and pepper. If you like more seasoning, this would be the time to add garlic powder and oregano.

Step 3: Cut the pita into triangles
Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut each pita round into 8 wedges to create small triangles.

Step 4: Arrange pita on a baking sheet
Spread the pita triangles in a single layer on a baking sheet so they crisp up evenly.

Step 5: Bake until golden and crispy
Bake for about 8 minutes, then flip the pita chips over and continue baking for another 5-8 minutes, or until they’re lightly golden and crispy.

Step 6: Serve with the dip
Let the pita chips cool slightly, then serve them alongside the creamy feta dip for the perfect crunchy scoop.
This creamy dip is proof that a few basic ingredients can come together to create something really special. The salty feta cheese blends into a smooth and flavorful spread that’s perfect for so many occasions. Whether you’re serving it as an easy appetizer, setting it out for game night, or simply enjoying it as a delicious snack with fresh veggies or pita chips, it’s always a crowd-pleaser. Don’t forget to have fun with the dip toppings too! Adding a drizzle of olive oil, herbs, or a few Mediterranean-inspired extras makes this creamy dip even more irresistible.
