One 14.5-ounce jar or can of artichoke hearts. They come either marinated or in water. Either will work. I think there is slightly more flavor if you use the marinated kind. The most important thing to do, no matter what kind you buy, is to make sure, after you drain them, that you dry them off really well. Using a paper towel, dab each one multiple times to remove any excess oil or moisture.

Cream Cheese
One block of cream cheese. Remove it from the refrigerator so that it can soften and come to room temperature. This will make it easier to combine with the other ingredients. I prefer the Philadelphia brand, but any brand works. I recommend regular cream cheese instead of fat-free or low-fat cream cheese.
Parmesan Cheese
One cup of Parmesan Cheese. I recommend freshly grating the cheese yourself. Pre-grated cheeses have fillers added, and I find that they don’t melt as well.
Tobasco
One “dash” of Tobasco. If you need a measurement, add 1/4 teaspoon. I like the flavor of Tobasco, but any hot sauce you like will work here.
Jalapeno Pepper
One whole jalapeño pepper. Remove the seeds and ribs, and then dice this into small pieces.


Mozarella Cheese
1/2 cup of grated mozzarella chees. Monterey Jack cheese would also work nicely here.

- Bake for 20-30 minutes at most until heated through and bubbly.
- To brown the top, switch the oven to broil and brown the cheese on top for a minute or so.
- Serve hot with your choice of chip or cracker.
Notes
- Dry off the artichoke hearts! DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP. After draining them, dry them off with a paper towel to remove the excess oil. Press down on each heart to get as much oil/moisture out as possible.
- Do not over-bake! The dip will separate and become slightly oily if baked at too high a temperature or for too long. You only need to warm the dip; there is nothing that needs to "cook".
